DIY Videos for the Panda Collection

My newest videos for the Panda collection. Check them out:

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Dear Sri, this is prepared for you:

^_^ You can view more details on this blog post. http://myfirstcard.blogspot.com/2011/01/super-cute-pandas-collection.html. How I make the cards... First, I choose a green background to match with the bamboo. I cut out a front piece and a back piece for the card and a light purple paper for the inside. As you see in the picture, I lay out all the precut for you to see. As for the flowers, I found some scrap papers from my leftover box and they are purple so they are so super perfect for this card. I just cut them out. I used some letters stickers to add in sweet messages.

Reach out for the moon

If you fall, you will land among the stars...
Do you ever feel like a plastic bag

Drifting throught the wind
Wanting to start again

Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards
One blow from caving in

Do you ever feel already buried deep
Six feet under scream
But no one seems to hear a thing

Do you know that there's still a chance for you
Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what your worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em fallin' down-own-own

You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe you're reason why all the doors are closed
So you can open one that leads you to the perfect road

Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow
And when it's time, you'll know

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what your worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em fallin' down-own-own

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through

Super Cute Panda's Collection

Dearest friends,

Today, when I sat down at the table, I felt so compelled to make some animal cards, so I look through my Sei papers. Who doesn't love pandas? They are cute and they eat bamboos... supposedly that makes them cuter. That's it! I'm making panda cards.

I made all these cards using only the following because I was trying to be super resourceful.

1. One sheet of Panda 12x12 Sei paper
2. Two sheets of solid green 12x12 Sei paper
3. Two sheets of solid light purple 12x12 Recollection paper
4. Some flowers scrap I have in my treasure box (aka... leftover box)
5. Purple ribbon & some number/letters stickers

I was surprised myself when at the end, there is such a variety and not just cards. To tell you the truth, when I make cards, I just kinda make them and not knowing how they really are gonna turn out. So let's see what we have here.

- One big card
- One medium size card
- Two tiny cards
- One postcard
- One bookmark

Adorable Panda's Collection
Did you notice the question mark on one of the tiny cards? Cool, right?

Which one(s) is/are your favorite? I like the bookmark the most. Will bring it to work tomorrow to use. So happy. It's been a while since I just sit at the table and started making craft nonstop. Hope you enjoy it too.

Flaunt it Fridays' Blog Hop: Hello Kitty & Airplane

Dearest friends,

Today, I am joining the first blog hop ever. I'm so excited. Well, as you may know, I've been under the weather the last few days and one of my biggest motivation is to get well to do this blog hop. I have to thank Cricutlvr at http://cricutlvr.blogspot.com for telling me about this blog hop when she left me a comment. I also want to thank Stephanie from http://alwayscrafting.com. She is so nice and supporting and what she made for this blog challenge is super cute and creative.

The hop is on Flaunt It Fridays at http://flauntitfridays.blogspot.com/ and is challenge is to be creative with Hello Kitty and airplane. I love this cute cat and airplane but to make a card out of them for me is hmm..... I gotta think about it. One of the gifts my husband gave me is a Hello Kitty calendar and I decided to sacrifice one page which has Airplane Hello Kitty on it. I know I know... it's not so nice but luckily I got his approval before doing it.

Soon I will be posting a video of me making the card on My First Card Youtube Channel but for now, please enjoy my newest creation. LATE FOR A BLOG HOP? HOP ON.

Super adorable, right? She's driving her own plane to pick you up.
Brm Brmm Brrmmm
*I will take you to this awesome blog hop super fast cause my plane is awesome!*
Hope you enjoyed it and thanks for stopping by.

Birds from San Diego

Dearest friends,

Just some pictures to share from San Diego, US.

Don't see no highways like this in Vietnam. I'm used to small and crowded roads now.
Just a stop to enjoy the view.
Love the swing of that bird.
I guess the birds are enjoying the view too.
Still watching.
A helicopter brings in some noise to the scene.
Nature and Technology!
hmm.... they are still watching and more...

Alphabet Series: S & K

Dear friends,

We will be exploring some more alphabet series cards today. I know there are twenty four of them and I might not finish them all, but as of here, I give you two more. S for Sunshine and K for Kitten.

This card is designed similar to the other ones you have seen already. The only different thing is the color of the beads. Yellow matches much better than white here; plus, I am out of white beads ^_^

I decided to try out a different corner puncher for this kitten card because I want to make it more lively.  If you see the video of how I made it, you will see that, I stamped a lot of butterflies and flowers to the cat to *catch*.

As said above, here is the link to the DIY video. Please click on the image and it will take you to My First Card Channel on You Tube. Enjoy!

Much love to you as always!

Museum of Ethnology

Hi there,

I have some pictures to show you today of the museum of ethnology in Hanoi. Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is both a research centre and a public museum exhibiting the ethnic groups of Vietnam. The mission of the Museum is scientific research, collection, documentation, conservation, exhibition and preserving the cultural and historic patrimony of the nation’s different ethnic groups. The museum also serves to guide research, conservation, and technology that are specific to the work of an ethnographic museum. (http://www.vme.org.vn/aboutus_history.asp

When I am walking around the museum, it takes me to all the different ethnics present in Vietnam with information on the language, culture, living style and crafts. My pictures are not showing everything at the museum, just some of the items that caught my interest. Enjoy!

The front of the museum. Besides the main building, there is also a very big surrounding garden which showcases some ethnic houses around the country.
Royal decree of King Le Hien Tong (1768). Nowadays, the decrees are just printed on A4 size papers.
Two-string Lute *Đàn Nguyệt*

Hand-painted crafts
I don't remember very clearly what it is, but it may be a painting used to protect children ritual.
Stamps and Seals used for Ritual Materials. At least I know, I will not be jobless if I was a crafter in this period.
Bamboo lunar calendar. Wow, we don't need no fancy iCalendar application.

Manuscript with pictographic script. These are more fun to look than old plain English but... I don't understand a word of it.
Very long boat. This must take a lot of coordination and collaborative effort.
The front
The famous woodblock painting on *wind* paper. Tranh Đông Hồ
Mmm.... this is just a house in the museum area. No one is living there though. There are different herbs in the garden.
A long house style.
A tall house style.
Kids playing rope pulling. Look at the kid on the ground who is sill trying to do his share of the pull.

Looking at this picture. I wouldn't think I am in Hanoi.
Water transferring system. I am sure there is an official name for it but I just create names that are easy for me to understand. Hope that works for you too.
Green space is precious in a capital like Hanoi, so couples take advantage and chooses this kind of location for their wedding pictures.
That was a lot of picture and a long post. Hope you enjoyed it!

Much love,
